More talk about dead birds please.

daigonite responds:

Well it was fresh, when I saw it must have died within a few hours. I think it hit a window in the early morning. Its eyes were gone but otherwise it was still intact. It actually really helped with my drawings since I was able to handle a bird in different poses without hurting it or it squabbling around. Really interesting. A few days later, I think it was picked up by some kind of hungry animal, because I couldn't find it.

The background lacks consistency in both style and quality compared to the subject matter. Not that i'm particularly in love with the way the character looks. Hurts the eyes. Two and a half for effort.

DragonPunch responds:

Well, at least I tried, right?

Some of the best photoshop painting ive seen on this website to date. You are a god among men Willie D.

RogersEntertainment responds:

Thank you very Much and yes i am

You finally finished it! Iv'e been waiting for you to man up and complete this forever now. Looks really great, nice composition. The chains at the top lead my eyes down to the focal point (leviathan) very nicely. And the round shaped nature of of the mines at the bottom keep my eyes from wandering off the canvas and bounce my attention back up to the subject. Really nice attention to detail and awesome style.

and I agree, Hatoful is certainly a...unique game.

Here we go, you had me scared with those comics for a while, but its nice to see you are still in for making pixel art. I like this picture quite a bit the light grey of the moon and the blue and green foreground make for good contrast. And the subject matter is wrapped in gloom and mystery, just what i love to see in pixel art. Or for the most part, art in general. One thing i would like to see more of from you though, is larger, more filled out pictures. I know once you get on a roll pictures seem to just fly out. But if you could just take a few days and work on one big piece and just keep going until you have tried every possible new technique you can think of and convey something meaningful, you will find the pay off being much more generous. And with the comics, my honest opinion is that they are no good and seem like the took little thought or energy to make. For all i know you can be mocking Cyanide and Happiness, but dry humored comics aren't for you. Stick to stuff like this and you will go far. Keep pixelating! Orders from the Captain!

I know I might focus a little too much on small scaled works, I'm trying to work on that. I'm currently working on a larger scale piece (progress is sort of going slow but It's nearing completion)
And with the comics, I was just trying to see how good I was at making a simple comic, turns out, not that much. So don't worry, your not going to see anything related to that stuff anymore (I personally don't like them that much either, I've even thought of deleting them)
So basically I'm going to stick to stuff like this. (It's where my heart is)
Thanks for the review, glad to hear from you.
And don't worry, I will never stop pixelating.

This really need to be frontpaged. I love everything about it, the perspective, the expressive strokes, and for the most part, the character. Im currently working on trying to paint and if i can someday make something this cool in the amount of time you did, i'd be a happy person. 5/5

xcrosspictures responds:

Thanks man, glad you like it! Though one of my pictures actually got featured quite recently on the front page and I don't think they would like to feature the same person too often. Don't worry, practice makes perfect. Just train daily and study your surroundings, other artwork and try to make sense of how they did certain things. I can also suggest this tutorial if you're interested in learning a similar technique to mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi_3HymnpXE
Cheers!
